First Canadian Place is kicking off their 150 Celebrations

with a Canadian focused Art Exhibition & Concert Series

50@150 will feature 50 original works honouring remarkable Canadians and their contributions & IN THE PARK will feature popular Canadian recording artists.

Toronto ON: This Summer, Canada celebrates its 150th Anniversary as a Nation. Come celebrate the heroes, heroines and heartbreakers who helped build Canada over the past 100 years. 50 lives lived with courage, passion and determination are presented at 50@150, June 19 through July 7. Also come check out First Canadian Place as they kick of their “In The Park” summer concert series starting June 28 with Canadian hip-hop icon and Juno Award winning artist, Shad.


This major exhibition will run from June 19 to July 7 and will take place in the First Canadian Place, 100 King Street West, Main Lobby. It features 50 Canadians who have built Canada through their ingenuity, risk-taking and will-power. They are not without controversy or failure, but they do provide us with remarkable stories and examples of great leadership and nation building. Come and celebrate excellence and pride in what we have become – a nation envied around the world for our ingenuity, tolerance, our natural beauty and creativity. 50 lives lived with courage, passion and determination.

50@150 is also offering free art tours between June 19 – July 7, from 12:15pm and 1:15pm, in the main lobby, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Join artist and co-creator of 50@150, Alex Park and find out, first hand, about the hidden stories behind the creation of these unique visual treatments of Canada’s greatest leaders.



Paul Scott Birnie is an award-winning photographer, graphic artist and creative designer. In a 30-year career he has founded successful businesses, taught photographic arts and developed new techniques in the digital arts.

Alex Park graduated from Centennial College in Toronto in 1970 with diplomas in Radio and Television Arts and Journalism. His professional career has been focused mainly in the areas of television and film production.


IN THE PARK Summer concert series

First Canadian Place is kicking off their annual IN THE PARK summer concert series with a special after-work concert with Canadian hip-hop icon, Shad.

WEDNESDAY JUNE 28, 5:15 PM Shad performs. Shadrach Kabango is a Juno Award-winning rapper and songwriter born in Kenya and raised in London, Ontario. His peers in Canadian Hip Hop recently voted him the 2nd Greatest Rapper Ever in Canada in a poll produced by the CBC.

THURSDAY JULY 27, 12:15 PM. MYSTERY ARTIST CONCERT.
