From roadside billboards and all-night diners to a 1970’s-era egg chair, Third Rail Projects will pay tribute to the mundane objects and environments of everyday American life in Genuine Plastic Reliquaries—a trio of movement-based performance works that include dance, song, and standalone art installations, presented free to the public in the lobbies of three Manhattan office buildings this spring.

Genuine Plastic Reliquaries begins with a re-mounting of Yolk, a durational dance performance for two dancers and two 1970’s-era egg chairs. Set against the bustle of midtown Manhattan, Yolk is part time capsule and part hidden treasure, offering meditative movement and saturated images of ready-made goddesses transforming within a fragile shell.

Originally created by Zach Morris, Tom Pearson, and Jennine Willett
Restaged by Jennine Willett
Performed by Roxanne Kidd, Jessy Smith

Performances begin at approximately 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM daily.
