WRDSMTH is an LA-based street artist who aspires to inspire on a daily basis with colorful and well-chosen words crafted into eloquent thoughts that are temporarily tattooed onto walls around the world.
A published author, screenwriter, former advertising copywriter, and an emerging street artist, he was born and raised in the Midwest before relocating to LA. Past and present worlds merged when he came up with the concept for WRDSMTH—a unique combination of stenciling and wheatpasting—and began adorning walls in LA with meaningful phrases.
Active in the art community since November 2013, he’s made his mark in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, San Diego, San Francisco, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Memphis, West Palm Beach, Miami, Toronto, London, Paris, Berlin, Kraków, Edinburgh, and Melbourne.
For a limited time, several of WRDSMTH’s mantras will decorate the driveway walls of the Hope Street exit from Wells Fargo Center as part of Arts Brookfield’s year round programming in downtown Los Angeles. The quotes, meant to be uplifting or humorous, are visual nuggets of thought-provoking sayings that nearby pedestrians and property tenants can mull over as they move on to their next destination.
Arts Brookfield presents exciting, world-class cultural experiences to thousands of people for free each year in both indoor and outdoor public spaces at Brookfield’s premier office properties in New York, Los Angeles, Denver, Houston, Toronto, Perth and Sydney. From concerts, theater and dance to film screenings and art exhibitions, Arts Brookfield brings public spaces to life.
