From roadside billboards and all-night diners to a 1970’s-era egg chair, Third Rail Projects will pay tribute to the mundane objects and environments of everyday American life in Genuine Plastic Reliquaries—a trio of movement-based performance works that include dance, song, and standalone art installations, presented free to the public in the lobbies of three Manhattan office buildings this spring.
Sign of the Times, is duet that navigates over an assemblage of light-up retro roadside billboards. Ricocheting off of Open-All-Nite signs, two dancers grapple with the overblown promises, wide-eyed wonder, and disenchanting realities of what awaits us at the next exit.
