First Light Exhibition: The first hint of summer manifests itself in a feeling, followed by the slow unlocking of forgotten memories and visual cues: sunlight on your skin; sand tracked into the house; the jingle of an ice cream truck; fresh cut lilacs cut from a wild bush; trees casting shadows on the sidewalk.

With varying mediums and subject matters, the paintings exhibited in First Light move beyond visual representations of summer to uncover what summer feels like, capturing the hopefulness, lightheartedness, and the languid passing of time stretched over days and weeks.

Featured artists: Kim Atlin, Christine Flynn, Fiona Freemark, Erin McSavaney, Ric Santon, Douglas Walker.
