Jazz never stands still…it constantly evolves and reinvents itself. See this phenomena in action every 2nd and 4th Friday at Bank of America Plaza from April through October. Angel City Jazz, a non-profit committed to cultivating jazz culture in LA through its annual Angel City Jazz Festival, has partnered with Arts Brookfield to program this series. Spend your lunchtime enjoying live music from local musicians while you snack on goodies from the Bunker Hill Farmers Market!

GENR8R is an all-star cast of Los Angeles based musicians, combining elements of Funk, Soul, Rock, Jazz, and Hip-Hop. Led by Ian Roller and Gabe Steiner, featuring Grammy winners and young guns of the Los Angeles music scene alike, GENR8R is a groove unit funkonomically designed to get you moving.

All members of the band are deeply immersed in the music scene locally and internationally, known for their work producing for, touring, and recording with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Anderson Paak, Stevie Wonder, Kamasi Washington, Stanley Clarke, Aloe Blacc, Avishai Cohen, BJ The Chicago Kid, Diana Ross, Bennie Maupin, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, and many more.

GENR8R’s inspiration draws from an array of sources new and old, from the old school funk, jazz and soul to new school hip hop, r&b and rock grooves.  In creating our music out of a wide spread of influences, GENR8R’s quest in music is to capture the universally optimal blend of rhythm, melody and harmony that inspires joy from within – that certain breed of joy that makes the body groove…So let’s move!
