About Angel City Jazz:
Angel City Jazz is a music presenting non-profit organization dedicated to revitalizing jazz culture in LA by presenting live concerts by established and emerging jazz innovators who have achieved exceptionally high levels of musicianship.
Through its yearly Angel City Jazz Festival and various local concert series, Angel City Jazz has been presenting some of the most exciting jazz musicians working today, including Archie Shepp, Roscoe Mitchell, Greg Osby, Dave Holland, Vijay Iyer, Dave Douglas, Bennie Maupin, Arthur Blythe, Elliott Sharp, Satoko Fujii, Larry Goldings, Theo Bleckmann, Wayne Horvitz, Kneebody, Ravi Coltrane, Wadada Leo Smith, Nels Cline, Tim Berne, Henry Grimes, Lukas Ligeti, Larry Karush, Allison Miller, Myra Melford, Mark Dresser and many more.
Angel City Jazz also runs the Angel City Arts Young Artist Competition as an avenue for young jazz musicians in the Los Angeles area to create and collaborate with one another in an effort to expand upon the traditional concepts of jazz and improvisation. The competition gives young musicians the opportunity to have their original music heard and evaluated by working jazz professionals.
APRIL 24: Nick Mancini Quartet
As both a vibraphonist and as a bandleader, Nick Mancini enjoys a reputation as one of LA’s most called-upon studio players, trusted bandleaders and kick-ass sidemen. Playing with a maturity that belies his youth, he has accrued both a band and a following that reflects his dual commitment to deep musical exploration and old-school entertainment.

JUNE 26: Lauren Baba Small Ensemble
Lauren Baba is a violinist, violist, composer, and improviser living in Los Angeles. She performs a wide variety of music from experimental styles to jazz, classical, folk, avant-garde, chamber, and pop.
AUGUST 28: GF3
GF (Gary Fukushima), along with JPM (John Paul Maramba) and MS (Miles Senzaki) started out as a house rhythm section for a weekly jazz jam session in downtown LA, gradually evolving into a creative unit transcending style, genre, time and space.
OCTOBER 23: New West Guitar Group
New West Guitar Group has developed a wide spread reputation as one of the premier guitar ensembles in the world. They perform recognizable covers, jazz standards and exciting originals. Their signature sound comes from an innovative style that highlights rhythm, beauty and virtuosity through combining acoustic and electric guitars. Smith and Storie founded the group in 2005 and today they continue to tour as a trio with Brahm throughout the United States and abroad.
