Cinema Tropical’s El Futuro Más Acá is a quirky and stirring film series originally curated by Itala Schmelz, Vania Rojas, and Héctor Orozco, featuring some of the most iconic Mexican sci-fi films made during the 1940s through the 1960s. You will discover how a robot can befriend a tough rancher from Chihuahua, which cabaret entertainers are actually from another galaxy, and that spaceships fly over the canals of Xochimilco.
