A collection of photographs featuring Italian actors and directors who appeared on the pages of LIFE during the 1950’s, the “golden age” of Italian cinema. The actors-Loren, Mastroianni, Lollabrigida, Masina, and the directors-Rossellini, DeSica, Fellini, Antonioni, were as famous for their amazing talents as they were for their colorful private lives. LIFE Magazine captured all of these stars in various stages of celebrity and in some cases, scandal.
