UNDERGROUND ART SERIES
Installation by John Van Hamersveld
Tap into the LA art scene while at work as we turn the valet parking lobbies on P1 into a rotating art gallery, presenting a new exhibition of artworks available for purchase every 6 months!
Wouldn’t it be fun to walk through an art gallery every day on your way to work? Now you can! Arts Brookfield is turning the valet parking lobbies on P1 into a rotating art gallery, presenting a new exhibition every 6 months that showcases artwork for purchase from an LA-based artist or gallery.
The first round of this series features prints by John Van Hamersveld, an artist who gained recognition in the 1960s for his design of the iconic Endless Summer movie poster. His continued success as a designer and illustrator in the music industry, in surf and counter culture, and in the corporate realm has solidified his position as one of the top creative voices of his time. His process always begins with an ink based sketch. His drawing is then translated into a graphic representation where he is able to play with color variations, resulting in fun imagery that screams with energy.
The exhibition will be on view through July. Join us at the opening reception in April to mix and mingle with the artist and your peers, snack on bites and beverages from Nick & Stef’s, and celebrate everything that’s new at Wells Fargo Center. All receptions are open to current building tenants and a guest.
See something you like? Look for the exhibition checklist on the lobby coffee tables or at the valet reception desk for artwork details and pricing. Email Alida Post at email@example.com to put the piece on hold or just make the purchase in person at the hosted reception in April!
